About Me:)

Hey everybody!

My best buddy, Shiloh, and I

I'm Caitlin, in case you haven't guessed by reading the name of my blog and/or my terribly clever URL for previously mentioned blog.

I have been attending Cal State San Marcos for 2 years now (I'm in my fourth semester). I transferred over after 3 years at a community college, only to learn that I was 12 classes (not units...classes!) behind for my Liberal Studies major. So, 1 1/2 years later, I am finally done with my lower division classes and am ready and excited to begin my 3 year journey with ICP.

I'm from Murrieta, born and raised! I attended Rail Ranch Elementary School, and then attended both middle schools in the same district. I graduated from Vista Murrieta High School in 2007 (Go Broncos!) After high school, I went to Mount San Jacinto Community College, and now go to CSUSM.

Technology is at times my dearest friend and my worst enemy. There is nothing more exciting that getting a new device and letting it revolutionize how you live life. If I could dedicate a love song to my iPhone, I would. I feel fairly competent in dealing with technology as long as nothing fails. However, technology is infamous for failing just when it is needed most. My brother is my tech tutor; he is the Media/Sound producer at our church and works full time with a local production company. If I have any questions (usually regarding my lovely iPhone) he is the first one I ask/text/tweet/call/facebook/pound-on-door-and-beg for assistance.

CSUSM College of Education's mission statement is quite encompassing. I believe it covers a wide range of strengths that I believe all teachers should have. Two things within the statement really speak to me as a student and a future teacher. I love how the statement incorporates collaboration and community. If we are to truly reach these children, we cannot do it alone. If we are a community, we can draw on each others strengths and provide a strong teacher base for this students. Secondly, I appreciate that the college strives to continue researching teaching. Research allows teachers to constantly learn new ways to reach each and every one of their students. We live in an ever evolving world and the children now have so many new needs and abilities.
